Observing the dynamic development of cyberspace over the past years, it is worth taking a reflective approach to understanding this phenomenon. What role does the Internet play in the life of an average person? Should we treat it as a harmful free time filler or rather as a source of entertainment? In the context of numerous studies on this issue, similar questions have been asked many times, but it is difficult to find a clear answer. The specificity of this medium means that the possibilities it offers us are constantly growing and reaching dimensions that may never be fully explored. This fact can be interpreted both as a disadvantage and an advantage. The article presents the second attempt in Poland at exam-ining the specificity of use of the Internet by two groups of adolescents – hearing and hearing impaired. The main thread in the research conducted was the risky online behaviour accompanying young adults, which can evolve into online addiction over time. In order to broaden the context and explore this issue, groups of respondents were surveyed using three tools. The results obtained strongly suggest a higher vulnerability for adolescents with hearing impairment.
