Abstract

Over the centuries,mankindhas undergonea great revolution, but not before the paceof changewas not asdeepand fastas it is now. The process of globalization, the dis-appearance ofborders,integration of the countriesof Europe,thegrowingnumber ofmulti-ethnicstatesthatthe process of unificationin the economyand the occurrence ofdifferent valuesunderlines the importance ofmulticulturalism. For centuries,differentculturesmutuallydisplaced, destroy, seekto dominateand expansionand single actionaimed atmutual un-derstandingwerenoteffective. But a differentworld is possible. Leadto a differentwayin the economy, politics but also and above allin the culture.And it isintercultural educationhaslead tothe understanding ofcultural differences–from thesubculturesin their owncommuni-tiesto theculture ofremotecommunities, prepareto interactand strengthentheir own identi-ty. Cooperationwith representatives of thedifferent culturesof the globalworldis a veryimportantand responsibletask forthe modernsystem of educationaimed atpreparingthe public tonew challenges. They consist inbuilding aglobal culture, to deepentheir own identi-tyof individuals, groupsand communitiesby promotingtolerance anddialogue, because of globalization, despite the trend towardsintegrationandunification ofpeople fromall over the world, our actionsand choicesare determined byhistory, traditionand the culturein whichwe were raisedandgrew up. Intercultural educationincludes adialogue,so thatcreatesa culturethat resultsin contactwith others.Thisdialogue isthe basis of allculture anddialogue isaway toco-existence ofcultures andintercultural educa-tionand dialogueis aservice to thedignity of man.
