THE GERMAN OCCUPATION OF POLAND FROM 1939 TO 1945 .STATE AND RESEARCH DIRECTIONS

Abstract

This article is about the state of research on the German occupation of Polish territo-ry. It also tries to answers the question of a direction of any seek further historical reflection on this issue, indicating gaps and also the cognitive perspective. The author proposes a fundamental thesis that despite the large number of publications concerning the fate of the occupied Polish territories, there are still works missing that could answer questions affecting the contemporary ideas of the German occupation.
