POLIHEURISITC THEORY OF DECISION-MAKING AND SECURITY POLICY ANALYSIS

This article explores developments of poliheuristic theory of decision-making (PTDM), which has become an intellectual background for applied decision analysis and has supported new behavioral approach in security policy analysis. The main hypothesis of this paper is the statement that PTDM approach may deepen constructivist analyses on fragile political structures in Central Europe. The basic aim of author is to identify the research field of mentioned concepts in the context of security policy research. Theoretical analysis tools are used in order to examine the philosophical and scientific inspirations, to reconstruct fundamental premises of PTDM, with the special concern on portraying national security decision-making. Article is a part of larger study on the perspective of constructivist developments in security studies in Central Europe.
