Abstract

The article presents the rudiments of the situation theory as a category of human security analysis in the micro-structural sense. The intention of the paper is to overcome the domination, and overuse of the term “crisis” in the so-far considerations on security, as well as to broaden, and explore the scope of the analysis of the matter. The article also aims at de-encapsulation, and pointing at new directions for the research. Based on the general issues within the theory of situation (the term’s meaning in social sciences or the basic classification), the paper introduces a sequence of potential, life-related human situations in the negative scenario – situation of extraordinary, extreme, critical, or border nature. Apart from defining such situations, their placement among the fundamental issues within the theory of security was also presented.
