National identity in the modern world as an important element of national security based on the content analysis of textbooks for a primary school in Poland

Abstract

Considering the importance of national identity in the processes of strengthening state security, the in- stitutional stage of its shaping, which takes place during primary school education and applies to all Polish citizens, was analyzed. Therefore, the aim of the research was a quantitative and qualitative analysis of the content of primary school textbooks on national identity on the example of Poland. This analysis proves compliance in this respect with the core curriculum, which strengthens the processes of constructing national identity as an important element of national security. The obtained research results made it possible to formulate recommendations for social practice in the field of constructing the national identity of students – young Polish citizens.
