Effectiveness of non-isolating imprisonment in the perception of probation officers

In the paper author used the outcomes of the study, indicating the essence, conditions and specificity of electronic surveillance and the importance of this solution in the process of rehabilitation of the condemned. An attempt to interpret and depict of probation officers’ statements, concerning the evaluation of alternative solution’s efficacy, some orientations of professionals’ reflections in terms of its improve-ment was the purpose of the research. The conclusions do not set explicitly the positive stand of studied individuals, suggests the problem of non-utilization of this solution’s opportunity and the need to enhance its effectiveness with the current policy, exposing a differentiation in the scope of the parole in the legal districts and depending on discretionary preferences of penitentiary judges.
