Modernity and child – child in the modernity. The reception of new approach to the childhood in the theory and practise of education in the Kingdom of Poland at the beginning of the 20th century

The aim of the article is to point the circumstances of the creation of the modern childhood’s construct in the Kingdom of Poland at the beginning of the 20th century. The western psycho-logical and pedagogical theories’ reception and their impact on the development of the polish science of childhood will be presented. The subject of the analyse is the measures in behalf of the popularisation of the new approach to the childhood in the family as well as institutionalisation of the educational processes. It was treated as the symptoms of the shift in social attitude to the child, characteristic of the modernity.
